A scarecrow trail was held in Compton Martin on Sunday, 26 August and Monday 27 August. Money raised from this village event went towards improving the hall and access to the new village field.  For two days, visitors followed the trail map, found the scarecrows, took part in the competition, bought souvenirs and enjoyed good food and drink.

I just wanted to write and say that I saw your Scarecrow trail (or at least some of it) when driving through your village on Monday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The M5 was heavy in traffic so I decided to take a 'short cut' to the M4 and glad I did. The first scarecrow I saw was the guy under the car. For a moment I thought it was a real person but the 2nd scarecrow put paid to that. It made me slow down to a mere crawl just so's I could spot the rest of the Scarecrows.

So, well done & thank you, it was a welcome respite in what was an otherwise mundane journey back to London.

regards,
Phil Turpin.
