Pete Budd of “The Wurzels” opened the Compton Martin Scarecrow Trail on August Bank Holiday Sunday and judged the best scarecrow. Famous for many songs including “Drink Up Thy Zider” and “Combine Harvester”, which topped the British singles chart in April 1976, the Wurzels” have had a revival in recent years. Singer, banjo and guitar player, Pete lives in East Harptree.
