Would you miss your church if it closed?
It is a sad fact of human nature to only truly value something after it has gone.
Could this be true of your church? These are the sorts of things that can lead to a church closing; failure to meet costs eg a big repair bill, or to meet even the general running costs, or no Churchwardens or church officers.
Is this relevant to any of our four churches here? Costs continue to rise all round, people lead ever busier lives both at work and in leisure pursuits, and church and faith have little meaning for many. Though we currently have faithful, committed Church Wardens, all the PCCs have some vacancies, and bills are more difficult to meet; despite a diverse range of worship across the Benefice, our numbers continue to fall.
Could you support your church physically, financially or with your particular skills?
We hold our Annual Meetings in April. If you value your church in whatever way, come to your church meeting and find out how you could help to ensure its future.
St. Michael’s, C. Martin: Sunday 13th April, after 10 am Family Communion.
St. Andrew’s, Blagdon: Monday 21st April 7.30 pm in the Village Club

“THE CHILDREN’S SOCIETY”
During September, the annual collection of boxes and donations will be made from regular contributors in Compton Martin, and Ubley. New supporters are always welcome, either to make an annual gift, or to have a box for use throughout the year. Many thanks for your valued support.
Please continue to save used postage stamps, which can be left at Ubley (at the Church, or with Jean Holbrook at Street View) or at Compton Martin (at the Village Hall, the Church or the Post Office).
The Children’s Society’s National Coffee Morning will, in our area, be held at St. Andrews Church, Blagdon from 10.45 am on Wednesday September 10th
